STUDIO GUIDELINES
A few things to know before you book The Brand Studio. These guidelines give you the full picture of how the space works so your session goes smoothly from the moment you arrive until you lock the door behind you. Please read through before booking. The full Terms and Conditions are agreed to at checkout.
The Brand Studio is a natural light photography and content studio in Birmingham, Alabama, designed for creatives, business owners, and families. The space is built for:
Brand photography
Headshot sessions
Content creation and product shoots
Maternity sessions
Family and personal portraits
Podcast recording
Business meetings
Networking events (hosted by Audrey Creative)
The studio also serves as the working office for Audrey Creative and regularly hosts business clients, brand collaborators, and networking events.
What is the studio for?
What’s not permitted
To preserve the space and respect the businesses and creatives who use it, the following are not permitted:
Boudoir photography
Intimate, implied nude, or nude photography
Lingerie or pin-up style sessions
Any sexual or pornographic content
Pets of any kind (service animals welcome with documentation as required by law)
Smoking, vaping, or tobacco use anywhere in the space
Drugs or controlled substances
Lit candles, open flames, or pyrotechnics
Glitter, confetti, sand, or paint
Food or drinks placed directly on white furniture, desk, or seamless backdrops
Alcohol consumption (unless approved)
Shoes on white furniture or seamless paper backdrops
Bookings outside the listed permitted uses will be declined. Sessions found in violation will be terminated immediately, the booking fee will be forfeited, and a $250 violation fee may apply.
Minimum booking. All rentals require a 2-hour minimum. Half-day rentals are 4 hours. Full-day rentals are 8 hours.
Pricing. Studio rentals range from $250 for 2 hours to $700 for a full day. See our full pricing on the Book page.
Payment. Payment is due in full at booking. All payments are non-refundable.
Build in buffer time. Your rental window covers setup, your session, and cleanup. Please book enough time for all three.
Cancellation and rescheduling.
Cancellations more than 1 week before your session: one reschedule allowed within 30 days, no fee.
Cancellations within 1 week: forfeited unless rescheduled with a $25 fee.
Reschedules within 24 hours: $40 fee.
No-shows forfeit the full booking and must rebook.
Group sizes. Sessions with 6-10 people incur a $50 Large Group fee. Groups of 10 or more incur a $100 fee. Please reach out before booking if you're hosting 10+ people.
Before You Book
Arriving at the Studio
Your time starts when you booked it. Your session begins and ends at your scheduled time. Late arrivals do not extend the session. If you arrive 30 minutes late on a 2-hour booking, you have 90 minutes of studio time remaining.
Access. Within 24 hours of your session, you'll receive an email with your lockbox code and parking instructions. Please do not arrive earlier than your booked start time, as the previous renter may still be wrapping up.
The lockbox and key. The studio key is inside a lockbox on the door. Use the code provided to retrieve the key, unlock the studio, and immediately return the key to the lockbox. Do not carry it with you, leave it inside the studio, or leave it sitting out.
The door does not auto-lock. When your session ends, you must lock the door manually and return the key to the lockbox before leaving. Failure to do so results in a $500 fee.
While You’re in the Studio
Make yourself at home, but treat the space with care.
Adjust the thermostat as needed. We keep it at 74°F for the next renter. Adjust to your comfort during your session, then reset to 74°F before leaving.
Use everything available. Props, backdrops, styling accessories, and continuous lighting equipment are included with your rental. Handle backdrops carefully (no folding, dragging, or cutting) and return everything to its original position before you leave.
Moving furniture. Sofas, the desk, and other moveable pieces may be repositioned, but they MUST be lifted by 2-3 people and carried. Never slide, drag, or push furniture across the flooring. Sliding furniture causes permanent floor damage and results in a $250 minimum damage fee.
The kitchen island stays put. It is a permanent fixture of the studio set and may not be moved under any circumstance. Unauthorized movement results in a $500 fee.
Children in the studio. Children are welcome but must be under constant supervision. Photographers are responsible for the actions of their clients, models, and guests.
Video surveillance. The studio is monitored by security cameras (no audio recording). By entering, you and your guests consent to video monitoring.
Before You Leave
A short checklist to leave the studio ready for the next renter:
Wipe down all surfaces you used (kitchen counters, tables, desks)
Return furniture, props, and equipment to their original positions
Take out any trash you brought in
Turn off all lights, equipment, and the speaker
Reset the thermostat to 74°F
Walk through to make sure you have all your belongings
Lock the door manually
Return the key to the lockbox
Items left behind will be held for 7 days. The renter is responsible for arranging pick-up.
Damage, Cleaning, & Fees
Fees protect the studio and keep it beautiful for everyone who uses it. Here's a quick reference:
Excessive cleaning: $150
Removable fabric stains: $75
Non-removable fabric stains: $150 minimum
Damaged flooring from sliding furniture: $250 minimum, plus repair cost
Unauthorized movement of the kitchen island: $500
Failure to lock door and return key to lockbox: $500
Lost or stolen key: $300-$600 re-keying cost, plus $200 inconvenience fee
Thermostat not reset to 74°F: $25
Lock-out re-entry assistance: $25
Overage time: $25 per 15 minutes after a 5-minute grace, full hour fee after 30 minutes
Prohibited item or activity: $100 minimum per occurrence
Booking with intent to create prohibited content: full session forfeit plus $250 fee
All fees are charged to the card on file per the Credit Card Authorization agreed to at booking.
Photography use & tagging
Renters retain ownership of the photographs and content they create during their session. We appreciate being tagged @thebrandstudio_bham on Instagram when you share content captured at the studio. Tagged content may be reposted by The Brand Studio with credit when possible.
Accessibility & Amenities
Parking. Free parking is available on-site. Parking instructions are sent with your access code 24 hours before your session.
